Consider the System as a Whole

Accurate machine control depends on the performance of the entire landforming system, not just the T3RRA software. T3RRA software works in conjunction with John Deere iGrade™, combining terrain design, guidance and implementation with iGrade's machine-control capabilities. Achieving the level of accuracy expected from the system requires the mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, GNSS and software components to work together reliably.

While T3RRA software is a key part of the machine-control system, its performance depends on the condition, configuration and calibration of the equipment around it. Poor machine maintenance, inaccurate GNSS positioning or incorrect iGrade™ configuration cannot be compensated for by software alone.

Before beginning work, verify that:

  • The machine is in good mechanical, hydraulic and electrical condition.
  • The implement is correctly installed and in good working order.
  • The RTK GNSS receiver, corrections source and (where applicable) base station are configured to provide reliable positioning accuracy.
  • You are familiar with the operation of the John Deere iGrade™ system.
  • John Deere iGrade™ has been correctly configured and calibrated.
  • The tablet PC is up to date, has sufficient available storage, and is free from unnecessary software that may reduce system performance.
  • T3RRA software is correctly installed, configured and updated to the latest recommended version.

Don't disengage your brain when engaging T3RRA software.
T3RRA software is an operator-assistance system, not a substitute for an attentive operator. Continue to observe machine behaviour, monitor positioning accuracy and verify work quality throughout every operation. Failure to do so may result in inaccurate or unsatisfactory results.
